Apple follows annual release cycles for its products, so it’s pretty easy to guess what we might see in 2025. While some things are certain, like the new iPhone 17 lineup for example, others are merely speculations that we can’t confirm yet. Either way, it promises to be an exciting year. Here’s Apple’s 2025 product roadmap.
January – April 2025
iPhone 16e (Released)

Apple kicked off the year with the iPhone 16e, released in late February. Originally rumored to be the iPhone SE 4, this rebranded model packs the A18 chip and marks Apple’s first phone to feature its in-house cellular modem. It’s a big step forward for budget-conscious users looking for modern performance without the Pro price.
iPad Air with M3 chip (Released)
In March, Apple launched the new iPad Air with the M3 chip, making it the most powerful Air yet. Available in 11- and 13-inch sizes, the device was built with Apple Intelligence in mind, supporting new AI features out of the box. It’s sleek, fast, and aimed at creative workflows.
iPad 11 (Released)
Apple gave the base iPad a long-overdue refresh in March, this time upgrading it with the A16 chip and 128GB of base storage. It’s a bit surprising to see an A-series update at a time when Apple is shifting focus to M-series chips for AI features. Still, it’s a solid, affordable option for users who don’t need Apple Intelligence but want a reliable everyday tablet.
MacBook Air M4 (Released)
The M4 chip made its debut in the updated MacBook Air lineup this March. Both the 13-inch and 15-inch models got a spec bump. There’s no design overhaul except for the new Sky Blue option, but major gains in processing power and efficiency. It’s ideal for users who want pro-level speed in a fanless chassis.
Mac Studio M4 Mac and M3 Ultra (Released)
In a surprising turn of events, Apple dropped the new Mac Studio in March! People were expecting it to arrive in June. It’s the first and only device to feature the all-new M4 Max and M3 Ultra chips. Both are exclusive to the Studio for now, offering serious performance gains for creative pros working with AI, 3D, or video workflows.
June 2025
New HomePod With Display (Postponed Announcement)
A new version of the HomePod, featuring a display, was expected this year. While not in the usual release cycle Apple uses for its products, a 2025 HomePod update was almost guaranteed. The announcement was expected for March or April.
However, the indefinite delay of Siri 2.0 made the company put the HomePod launch on hold. That’s because the new device would strongly rely on the assistant. If there’s no Siri 2.0, there’s nothing to properly power the HomePod.
New software at WWDC
June is an exciting time because Apple announces its latest software updates at its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC). Just like every year, we can expect the rollout of iOS 19, iPadOS 19, macOS 16, tvOS 19, and watchOS 12.
September – December 2025
iPhone 17, iPhone 17 “Air” and iPhone 17 Pro
This is when things get exciting! As is the norm, September will see the launch of the latest iPhone 17 lineup. This year, Apple is expected to launch an iPhone “Air” that’ll be an enhanced iPhone 17 but more affordable than the Pro devices.
Apple Watch Series 11
The latest Apple Watch might sport a new design and of course, feature upgrades. Perhaps we might get blood pressure monitoring or some new safety features.
Apple Watch Ultra 3
The Apple Watch Ultra didn’t get a refresh in 2024, but it will this year. The new model will feature the same new capabilities as the Apple Watch 11, along with advancements such as satellite connectivity for texting when off-grid.
AirPods Pro 3
Your favorite earbuds might get a new design this year. The anticipated AirPods Pro 3 will also bring even better audio quality, improved Active Noise Cancellation, and perhaps some health features too, such as body temperature monitoring. That’s going to be interesting for sure.
Mac Pro
Apple will probably update the Mac Pro with the most powerful version of the M4 chip. Based on past releases, we can expect something along the lines of an “Ultra” or “Extreme” M4 chip. It might also support up to 512GB of Unified Memory.
M5 MacBook Pro
It’s hard to predict what new capabilities the M5 MacBook Pro will have, except of course for the new M5 chip. However, if you want to buy a new MacBook Pro, it might be best to wait until 2026 if you can because then we might see the debut of OLED display technology on these premium devices.
Apple TV 4K
No design changes are expected, but the new Apple TV 4K will get a faster processor and an Apple-designed Wi-Fi and Bluetooth chip.
HomePod mini
Apple’s little smart speaker will probably be released in new colors with a faster chip and an Apple-designed Wi-Fi and Bluetooth chip.
Other Products in the Pipeline
AirTag 2
AirTags have not been refreshed since they launched a few years back. So Apple’s 2025 products will probably include the AirTag 2 with an improved range that’ll allow you to track it from further away.
iPad Pro with M5 chip
As the name suggests, this powerful new device will sport the latest M5 chip. We’ll have to wait and see what kind of new functionalities it’ll bring.
Vision Pro 2 or Vision Air
Apple’s first mixed reality headset didn’t take off the way it hoped. Despite strong developer support, the Vision Pro’s high price and bulky build kept it from reaching mass adoption. Now, Apple appears to be pivoting. A lighter, more affordable version (possibly called Vision Air) is reportedly in development.
Early leaks suggest it could launch as soon as late 2025. The Vision Air may drop features like the EyeSight display and reduce the number of external sensors, but it’s still expected to run the full visionOS experience. That means spatial apps, multitasking, and gesture controls stay intact. With a rumored price closer to $1,500, this could finally bring Apple’s headset ambitions to the mainstream.
iPhone Flip (Foldable iPhone)
It’s probably not launching in 2025, but Apple’s first foldable iPhone is already shaping up to be one of its most anticipated future products. Reports point to a flip-style design, similar to the Galaxy Z Flip, with a compact outer screen and a full-sized display inside.
Apple is reportedly still testing durability and hinge tech, and it’s playing the long game: making sure it avoids the pitfalls early foldables faced. The goal? A phone that’s thin, polished, and doesn’t feel like a prototype. Don’t expect to see it before 2026 at the earliest—but when it does arrive, it could be Apple’s boldest design change in over a decade.
iPhone 17 Air
Apple is reportedly working on a new model called the iPhone 17 Air—a sleeker, lighter version of the standard iPhone 17. It’s expected to feature a smaller Dynamic Island, a significantly thinner design, and possibly the A19 chip.
Positioned between the base and Pro models, the iPhone Air could revive Apple’s naming tradition while offering something more refined without going full Pro. Early leaks suggest a 6.6-inch display and a refreshed aluminum frame. It won’t launch until fall, but if the rumors are accurate, the iPhone 17 Air might become the new default for most people.
Great roundup! I’m still rocking my iPhone 11 Pro and holding out all the way until the iPhone 17 Pro arrives—the camera improvements are really the only thing tempting enough for me to upgrade. My trusty old iPad Pro, however, finally hit the wall with no more iOS updates, so I’ll probably grab an iPad mini sometime this year. It’s going to feel strange downsizing, but I’m ready for something lighter and more portable!
